Nope. So far l just have Fidelity mutual funds in my 403b & in my Roth & some muni-bonds thru another broker. l have not bought any individual stocks, but if l did, I'd probably put them in my Roth so they'd grow tax free. I'd probably stick to Fidelity because l am used to them. For buying individual stocks, they offer 2 types of service: 1) do-it-all-yourself or with minimal help at one price or 2) they do it all for u at a higher price. Either way, they said l could research stocks on their website. So far, I've mainly used their website to look at my existing accts & to research their funds, but not to research individual companies.
There is a fun column in the Business Section of our newspaper--Motley Fool or something like that. It is supposed to have sort of online instruction for analyzing stocks. Bob Brinker also offers some online financial advice, but he is really, really into index funds.
Have fun. Otherwise, what is it all about? It is certainly not about making money these days. Oh! l remember! It is about buying more shares at a cheap prize so that at some distant date, maybe 10 or 20 yrs, then l will be rich. Yup! That is what l am doing. l knew there was some sort of method to this madness.

It really depends on ur current level of trading knowledge. Some sites feature more advanced trading tools then other sites do.
l am not endorsing any of the following, but l do think they r some of the better online brokers out there.
TD Ameritrade Optionsxpress eTrade
The average trading costs for those sites is around $10 per trade. Which means they r not the cheapest sites to use. But they do offer pretty good trading/research tools. l think it is far better to join a online broker that u can grow with than it is to join a cheap rate site that limits what u can do.

l have 3 trading accounts depending on what l trade.
E*Trade is by the far the best, but is also twice as expensive as the others. l only use it for trading in foreign markets.
OptionsExpress is great for options, if you're into that.
TDAmeritrade is what l use for stocks. It is simple, convenient & fairly professional for the price.
If you're looking for something simple, u should consider either Scottrade, TDAmeritrade or Schwab.
