Just two different company is is all. Both of them handle stock sales and purchases. Nasdaq is not as big as Dow Jones. Otherwise there is not any differences.

The Dow Jones is an index of 30 stocks, mostly on the New York Stock Exchange. The Nasdaq is a computerized trading system where companies can list their stocks to trade. Like the New York Stock Exchange except the NYSE is a physical place and the Nasdaq is an electronic system.
