l have a 300k mortgage at 5.5% l also have 60k in cash in the bank. Should l invest all or some of the 60k or put a large payment on my mortgage.

Invest - thus your money can have a greater return and remain liquid

pay about 55k on your mortgage. you will sleep better at night knowing that you are one of the few people in the country who can refi if times get tough.

other reason is that you will have an instant 5.5% interest rather than a few more years of stock losses.
