What is Forex tick data? What does ''tick'' mean here?

its not a exact unit of time but generally about one second. l have seen some ticks take almost 10 seconds.

A tick in Forex refers to the moment when the price of a given currency pair changes. When we refer to Tick data we are usually talking about a combination of ticks that make up the movement of a currency over a specific time period. Some ticks may be milliseconds apart, others are seconds apart. The time between ticks just depends on the volatility of the market at that given time.
