Where is Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae headed, will they remain a public company after the Gov. sell

They will remain what they have been to this day, a private company shadowed by the government. Honestly nothing has changed except the deficit for bailing out those giants.

Pelosi & the usual suspects will decide the fate of their money laundering operations after the elections in the next congress. In all likelihood the democrats will attempt to find a way to allow them to remain public & continue to use them to fund their special interests, however there may be grave political implications if they indeed make that attempt.
Fannie & Freddie have already been delisted from the S&P 500 & they r under a mandate that currently requires them to devalue by 10% per year for the foreseeable future so this alone would make them an absolutely unattractive equity investment.

They have never been a public company or a private company. They have been quasi-governmental entities. There is a chance they will be turned into pure governmental entities not that would change anything since they were controlled by Congress anyway. The advantage of the current system is Congress has plausible deniability when their instructions, like making loans to bad risks, backfire.
