l was buying them a few years ago when they had a fixed rate above 0 and looked at them today to see the fixed rate is 0%.These are US Treasury bonds.Why would buying one of these be a good idea?l know there is a variable rate so you would be earning some interest.

it is a 0% rate plus inflation, which is close to 5% right now. l am making 8% on my l bonds right now since they are 3% fixed plus inflation.
