im sorry but l have had spectacular returns every year of over 100% and before the crash l was totally long on stocks but since l cut my loses right away l lost very little and actually made money shorting... now im up even more before the crash! and all the investors are down 30 50 % its sad... im a swing trader and a good one.. so why doesnt everyone just trade... l mean wake up there is no more MSFT,philip morrises or wal marts those days of 20 cent stocks going to 20 dollars no longer exist! so why do they pretend they do?? is it because no everyone can trade successfully because they let emotions get in the way? or they abandon their strategy or cant take the risks but l risk very little l try and diversify my trades yet l outperform everything ...
and the more money you have to trade the easier it becomes! as the most successful turtle trader once said the first 2 million is the hardest... after that its 50000 profits and only like 2000 dollars loses... over and over again .. sometimes more or less.. in the long run 100% returns!

Most people lose money with frequent trading. If you are able to do it successfully, you are able to control your emotions better than most of us.

If you are sorry that you've had 100% returns for years. Then perhaps what you say is not true. People are usually happy and not sorry to have that kind of returns.

Because most of us are not stock market brokers or specialists in swing trading. We spend most of our time in a regular job and entrust our money in mutual funds and 401K is without the ability to choose who ''manages and invests'' our money.

l would welcome you with open arms if you ever decided to manage my 401K. but like l said. that is not likely going to happen.

Day traders are gamblers, they try to guess how stock prices will go, very few people seem to be able to make any money doing this. Most poeple lose their money very quickly. If you can do it, good for you, l would rather choose a stock and not have to worry about it for at least 5 years. :) l am lazy.

l guess it is just frowned upon because most people try to play it safe. They invest for years and rely on dividends. They see traders as scalpers who pump prices and take away profits.

Come on Trader, enough of the fairy tales already. When you get out in the real world you will find out how hard it is to be a real trader.

In the current market even swing trading wo not work. The only way to make money is daytrading, and it must be tough for you to daytrade and go to high school at the same time.

Studies have shown that the more you trade, the worse your profits. Buy and hold investors do the best. More frequent traders do worse. Day traders do the worst.
