I am having a contest with my family, we each pick three stocks and buy roughly 3-4 stocks each. l am a avid Conservative, so is my father, while my mom is a socialist. l was thinking IBM as one of my 30 day investments, not sure of the other three, any ideas.

If it just a game, the winners of these kinds of contests go with HIGH risk stocks. Of course with just three people playing, u do not have to be that risky.

However, IBM is the the opposite of risk. You should be looking at something a little more mid-sized in order to win.

Over the next 30 days? Um.finding ANY stock that produces a profit will be tough, so in that case pick Utilites companies.they do not rise much, but they do not fall.

are you talking percentage gain or dollar gain? if it is dollar gains, you must impose a cost limit.

if you want consistency, consider commodities: oil, food production, clothing.
