Will someone explain this to me and offer up some facts about the whole situation?

If people were to stop panicking and put more capital into the markets, prices would go back up, thus a turnaround market.

The stock market wo not go away. A lot of people are panicky right now, because the value of their investments is in the tank. But if people can hang on and ride it out, eventually the stock market will recover, but it will take some time.

People who do the best are in it for the long term, and either understand what they are doing and the economics of the companies they are investing in, or have professionals do it for them.

l think people in general need to stop cashing out their 401 k is & mutual funds, they need to start paying off their bills (cc, mortgages, etc.) and stop living beyond their means. Would really help the economy.

The market will be saved when the sellers quit selling & the buyers start buying again. Also, when the government stops interfering with the market. Also when the LIBOR goes down & banks start acking like banks again. When the bottom of the real estate maket reaches a bottom. Many factors have to take place for the market to function normally, but the one most important factor is the CONFIDENCE has to be restored. Purely a psychological condition must be achieved to accomplish this.

l would say it would just take time mostly. The big hang up right now is housing. The banks are losing money on bad mortgages and because of this they do not want to lend money. So until houses start selling again we will be stuck right where we are. This will take some time.
