Sorry if I am driving everybody crazy!OK, l asked in my last post if MM funds were FDIC insured and l received mostly positive .In the meantime, l went online to the Fidelity investment site and l quote from two sources there:''An investment in a money market fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency.''Then, another place l read: ''Fidelity Investments....have determined that all of Fidelity is retail and institutional money market funds will participate in the U.S. Treasury Department Temporary Guarantee Program for Money Market Funds......The coverage would apply ONLY (my emphasis) to investments held in participating money market funds as of the close of business on September 19, 2008.''

So does that mean that the funds transferred by my husband from his Fidelity 401-K into a Fidelity money market fund yesterday are not insured under this U.S. Treasury program???Therefore, this money is not really safe?l tried contacting Fidelity by phone, but l got so tired of listening to the music and the voice telling me how sorry they were to keep me waiting...l hung up.

It means the opposite. Your funds are guaranteed.
