l had CD is paying 16% to 18% during the time President Carter was in office. l think some were being bought which paid a little higher than that. It was a scary time. Those were the highest rates l ever saw.

You did say ever seen. l saw 18% back in the early 80s from my local S&L. The way the U S is printing money were are very likely to see those rates very soon again.
