Only time will tell. It really depends how old you are -- for instance, if you are close to retirement, there may never be enough time to recoup the losses, and that person will not necessarily be earning enough money to bolster the portfolio in the future.

l am a 401K buyer, so that is buying stocks at a low price right now.
l have another fund that got hammered in worth only, but l DRIP on it so that is buys stocks at a lower price.
It is discouraging it is not going up, up and up, but my fiscal year just started a couple of months ago, so l might still see an upswing.
