The market rarely reacts to news that is widely anticipated. If shortly before the election most people believe Obama will win, there will be more of a reaction if McCain wins. Since after the election there will be no reasonable doubt about who will take office January 20th, that will have no impact on the market.
What could have an impact on the market is any kind of surprise in any kind of victory/inauguration speech.

Sue W. is spot on. In addition to the economists she mentioned, Paul Krugman, the guy who won the Nobel Prize in economics on Monday, has been a strong supporter of Obama and a vocal critic of Bush/McCain policies that led to this mess.
