l have about 50K to invest.

The same thing l thought of it 3 years ago. Dead money until they get rid of their CEO.

l am long-term bullish on them. l have no idea what will happen to them short-term.
On the negative - a large part of their business is financial related. And like was mentioned before their current management has been incompetent. Bring back Jack Welch!
On the positive - they're diversified. A lot of their business is in essential products. Even in a deep recession people will still buy light bulbs & washing machines. They pay a good dividend at current prices & while they wo not increase the dividend next year, they have a long history of doing so. They should have the cash flow to support that.
With 50K to invest l certainly would not put it all in GE, but maybe 5K. And only if l had a long-term perspective.
