Capital One Bank currently offers cds at 5.5%.You can choose whether to make this a 7 year cd or a 10 year cd.Personally, l would go with the 10 year because that means they have to keep paying you 5.5% for 10 years even if the rates change.

Millennium bank is offering non-redeemable & non-fdic-insured premium cds at 7.50%.Still a safer investment than the stock market.

But looking at your details, l would stay away from non-insured accounts AT ALL COSTS! A firm goes bankrupt and you've got nothing, and no recourse, practically speaking.

Investing is still the best way to make money over the long term. There are several mutual funds - even with the current market - that have annualized returns in excess of 10% a year.

l think your investments are good as a portion of your portfolio, but not for the whole thing.

Find some good funds for good and bad markets and add them to your portfolio.

The value of stocks, on average, is only down to what it was three years ago. Now is the time for anyone with any spare cash to get into the markets. Having money tied up in cash is actually losing the capital value. You may get 5.5% but after 10 years the capital will only buy half or less that what it can buy now, so u r losing.
Any company that offers cash rates of more than the current mortgage rate is suspect & u should not put any money with them.
The best advice is: ''If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is''!
