with an annuity feeding into a mutual fund. should [and can] l simply ask my financial adviser to stop buying stocks, but leave what l have already. it is not much, but i'm 60 and wondering if i'm being a fool by continuing to buy. l have a feeling he will advise me to continue as l am, but would like some other opinions. thanks-

l do not know how long u have been buying mutual funds, but l am sure its value is significantly lower than what u bought them for. You r not alone -- every mutual fund & virtually every type of stock investment fund is down.

The good news is that most analysts believe that the bottom of this stock market ''crash'' is near. If they r correct, ur mutual funds will start going up quickly -- back to the high levels of Oct 2007. Further, because the market is so beaten down, there r a lot of companies that r much cheaper than they should be. This is actually a good time to buy -- not sell or stop buying.

Your instinct that ur financial advisor will advise u to continue as u r is correct. He probably will, but u should still talk with him to find out how his investment plan has changed because of this credit & stock market ''crisis''.
